He was born in Pirallahi district of Baki city on the 17th of November, 1963. Sergey childhood dream was to become a pilot. Thus, he entered the School of Pilots after he finished secondary school. After successfully graduating from the School, he proceeded with his education at the Yeysk High Military Aviation School.
Later, he worked in Russia for a while. Later, he started serving within the Military Aviation Battalion in Kurdamir. And he was also promoted to the rank of Colonel Lieutenant for his excellent service. After Russian militants left the country, he himself started doing the repair work and fixing the old planes and from that moment on he also began flying those planes as well.
Sergey was a brave and courageous pilot who loved his country and was amongst the first ones to fly to Garabagh after the war emerged. He never thought of death not was he afraid while flying to the fiercest battle zones. He was an experienced pilot and would usually make a maneuver before heading towards the destination.
Despite the fact that his plane was hit twice by armenains, he managed to land the plane successfully survived the attack as well. Sergey flew to Garabagh dozens of times and had a great role in taking the civilians to safer places. His every strike against the enemy was a true example of courage. His friends were always waiting for him whenever he would take off in order to fulfill a mission. Alas! His plane was crashed while he was having a training flight along with young trainees and the brave pilot whose name turned into a legend died on the 30th of August, 1993.
He was married and survived by two daughters.
Murtizaliyev Sergey Murtuzali was posthumously awarded the title of the “National Hero of Azerbaijan” by the decree # 202 of the president of Azerbaijani republic on the 16th of September, 1994.
Sergey was buried in Dargush village of Darband city. There is a monument of him in Kurdamir Military Aviation Regiment.
